Mind-bending puzzler Superliminal is getting a limited physical release on Nintendo Switch next week. This release will be from British games publisher Super Rare Games. Three versions will be available: A Standard Edition, limited to 3,000 copies, a Steelbook Edition limited to 750 copies and a goodie-filled Collector’s Edition. Pre-orders open on the 5th of May at 6PM BST.
The Collector’s Edition, limited to 1,250 copies, includes a whole host of cool stuff:
- A 32-page hardback miniature museum guidebook
- A Superliminal pawn chess piece
- 3 apple dice
- An optical illusion fridge magnet
This is all bundled in a collector’s edition box with a lenticular lid. You can take a better look at the contents of the Collector’s Edition below:
Of course, for fans of game collecting and preservation, having this excellent indie puzzle game in physical form will be a real treat. Also, the physical release will include any post-launch content, such as updates and the Challenge Mode, on the cartridge. No downloads required!
For those who don’t know, Superliminal is a game that sits snugly alongside The Stanley Parable and Portal. Obviously, then, it’s a brain-melting puzzle game, with a great sense of humour to boot. Unravel the mystery of the Somnasculpt dream therapy program and expect the unexpected as each level presents new ideas for your brain to chew on. Furthermore, the game has a deep and thoughtful narrative that raises some interesting points in its short runtime.
