The first Metal Gear was released in 1987, however the franchise didn’t truly get the fame it deserved until Hideo Kojima used his magic and gave us Metal Gear Solid released in 1998.
Since then we’ve seen the likes of Metal Gear Solid prequels, sequels and even timelines set in alternate dimensions. Unfortunately, despite Metal Gear’s success on most fronts the future of the franchise is currently unknown due to the break up between Konami and Kojima…
Despite this, Metal Gear is a ‘solid’ franchise loved by many. Personally I hope to see something great come from the franchise once more but until then let’s reflect on some of the past titles and check out just some interesting facts you might not have known!
